Telehealth consultations

Save time and stay safe

Telehealth enables you to save time and to stay safe and well by limiting your exposure to COVID-19 and other transmissible viruses.

Telehealth services were implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic response. As a result, there is no need to travel to the practice as you can do a telehealth consultation with your doctor.

Simply book your telehealth appointment online or over the phone.

Using telehealth for your appointment has many benefits:

  • Telehealth provides you the ability to contact your doctor from your own home.
  • Telehealth means that your doctor is available without you having to spend time in our practice waiting room. This also means you limit your exposure to COVID-19 and other potentially damaging viruses.
  • Telehealth enables you to seek care without the need to come to our practice.
  • Telehealth enables you to quickly access simple services and save time, such as getting repeat prescriptions or updating your referrals.

What is the cost of a telehealth consultation?

If you have been seen at the practice within the last 12 months, you can access the Federal Government funded COVID-19 Telehealth consultation item numbers for phone or video conferences with your GP. A gap payment may be required.

Our reception staff will discuss the fees with you at the time you make a Telehealth booking and advise how to pay for your consultation.

What kind of appointment can I book with telehealth?

These are the consults we conduct using telehealth:

  • General consultations
  • Chronic disease management
  • Team care arrangements for access to allied healthcare providers
  • Mental health treatment and planning

From July 2021 the Government has restricted the services that can be delivered by telephone, and some services will require a video conference for which higher fees may apply.
