Dr Clare McLennan

Dr Christopher Mitchell from Lennox Head Medical Group

“I enjoy every aspect of general practice but am especially interested in women’s health for all ages.”

Clare graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2014 and gained her Fellowship with RACGP in 2021.

Having grown up locally on the North Coast she was always drawn to rural general practice, and during her medical training enjoyed aspects of every specialty and had trouble narrowing it down to just one – leaving general practice as the perfect choice!

During her training she has spent time in hospitals in Sydney, Port Macquarie, Lautoka in Fiji, John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, Taree, and Lismore Base Hospital, and she has completed her General Practice training locally, including in Aboriginal health.

She enjoys all aspects of general practice, and as a mum of 2 young children she is especially interested in women’s health all the way from contraception, unplanned pregnancy, antenatal and postnatal care, and menopause.

She has training in Implanon and IUD insertion as well as medical termination of pregnancies.

When not at work she enjoys spending time outside with her family and dabbling in different hobbies now that she’s finished all that study!
