Dr James Boyd

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Christopher Mitchell from Lennox Head Medical Group

“I enjoy the continuity of care in general practice and helping my patients to better manage their own health.”

James grew up in England and studied medicine in Wales at Cardiff University.

As a junior doctor he came to Australia in 2008 for a ‘working holiday’ on the North Coast of NSW but he enjoyed the experience so much that he never returned home.

After completing various hospital rotations at Lismore Base Hospital and in Newcastle, James decided that General Practice was the career he wanted to pursue and he completed his GP training in the Northern Rivers.

James loves the variety of General Practice and the continuity of care that it enables. He enjoys the full spectrum of General Practice presentations and particular interests of his include mental health, chronic disease management and Indigenous health. He has previously worked in the Lismore Aboriginal Medical Service.

Outside of work, James enjoys the outdoor lifestyle which the beautiful North Coast is famous for. He loves spending time with his wife and young children. He enjoys surfing, golf and tennis in his spare time.
