Dr Jonathan Evans

MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Jonathan Evans from Lennox Head Medical Centre

“I sincerely enjoy helping my patients to manage their own health.”

Jonathan (affectionately known as Jono) spent several years travelling and studying before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. After graduating from the University of Queensland, Jono completed his junior training at Lismore Base Hospital.

As part of his hospital rotations, Jono was exposed to a variety of different specialties and discovered his real interest was working across all facets of medicine, and in providing ongoing support for patients through their entire health journey. As a result, it was apparent that becoming a general practitioner was the only path for him.

Jono completed his GP training in Sydney, but ultimately decided that working in a regional area would provide a better life for his young family. He loved the northern part of NSW and joined the Lennox Head Medical Centre as his sister Louisa was already working there.

Jono’s professional satisfaction comes from finding the best medical options for his patients. He recognises that a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t consider the complex nature of the individual’s life perspective, background, demographic, personality and potential support networks.

Jono loves spending time with his family and friends and enjoys surfing and travelling in his spare time.
