Dr Louisa Evans

MBBS, FRACGP
Doctor Louise Evans from Lennox Head Medical Centre

“General practice was a really good choice for me. I love the lifestyle and flexibility it offers and I doubt I would have enjoyed any other medical specialty as much”.

Louisa graduated from the University of Sydney in 2000 and completed her intern and resident training at Prince of Wales Hospital, part of which saw her working at Lismore Base Hospital. She then worked overseas including as a locum in London. On her return, Louisa started GP training at Lismore Base, completing the emergency department (ED) and paediatric components there. She then worked in Alstonville and Mullumbimby and commenced working at Lennox Head Medical Centre in 2007.

Louisa loves the full spectrum of GP issues and has found that by being a female GP, women, mums and kids gravitate to her. She also enjoys shared maternity care and having had three children of her own means she easily empathises with patients presenting with commonly associated problems such as sore backs and reflux. Louisa’s care spans pre-pregnancy to post-birth care.

Louisa strives for a healthy work-life balance and when not working, enjoys spending time with family, doing Pilates and reading or walking the Byron Bay lighthouse track. She loves the local scenery and beaches and feels enormous gratitude in being able to live here.
